VIDEO: Celebrating 96 Years of Life in Vancouver

by Julie Ann Anderson on April 28, 2010

Chris and I recently paid a visit to Chris’s grandmother’s home in Vancouver to celebrate her 96th Birthday.  Mum is still active and cooking in the kitchen just like she always has been.

We’ll post more later about how we watched her around the kitchen and bought her a couple new tools to help her.  For example, she had been using an old can opener that she had used for years and years and is no longer a safe tool for her.  Being a caregiver, whether professional or family, means watching over the elderly in their environment to ensure that they can live independently and safely.

We hope you enjoy the video with photos we took of her while we were there.  Mum is precious for sure and we enjoyed talking to her about her heritage and of growing up in Scotland and then moving to Vancouver where she’s been for about 20 years.  Enjoy.
